Somebody must have broke into my account to write some of those comments. It will say that Joey Arnold wrote it. But I didn't. This is my real name, too, by the way. It was either done by the owner(s) or people of this website, or who know who. Regardless of who did it, it may mean that somebody knows my password. This was my most favorite movie music video drama romance thriller. If this was an indie film festival, you guys would win, no questions asked.

Hey, Keila--After Jack does a very funny song about a guy who yodels while making love and they are great at the yodeling. (I never thought I'd be praising a yodeling song but it is wonderful). I hope you do get to see them in person sometime. Go to their Facebook page and you can get links to their other songs.

I just want to let you young ladies know that we have truly enjoyed your video! I watch every time I vote. After Jack is a treat to see perform and their all around talent will not be held back. You just can't help but watch them perform with a huge grin on your face. These young ladies are genuine. After Jack's three voices harmonize just wonderfully together and they as a group let each individual voice come through in just amazing ways. Thank you guys for all you are doing. Your original songs are insightful and unique. Can't wait to hear more!!!

Considering what a tiny rural community After Jack comes from, and that this band was formed less than 3 months ago, it's astounding that they've done so well in this contest, taking the lead through much of the first round in number of votes. It's not so surprising, though, when you watch the video and see how talented they are.

WOW. First, Amen to Susan and Katherine's comments. I can hardly believe what I'm reading here. I had suspected early on that there was a script running on this site because EVERY time I logged in, a couple of the videos (not naming names) would bump up by a vote. It may have been coincidence if it happened 4 or 5 times but it was every single time. I have experience with this from a video sharing website. Unscrupulous posters used it to inflate their "views". Ladies, I think it will be very clear to the judges what's going on and they will judge this Video Contest on genuine merits,
and even if they don't, those of us watching from the bleachers know who the real winners are. God or Karma or the Universe (whatever you believe in) will teach the cheaters in time. It's inevitable. Best of luck Ladies. You're phenomenal ! Keep that true, gentle, honest spirit. It always wins in the end.

I think this banter on links is odd. I have been watching this for a couple days since my friends reposted this several times last week thru FB and twitter. I seriously doubt any of them is remotely connected to the people on this website. Promotion on the web is not from a single point or person but spreading thru many. As far as I can tell all my friends saw a link on another friends FB page. Ultimately regardless of what link is followed to get here, each person still has to agree to sign up and then make their own decision as to which ones to vote for. I personally like this one and the cowgirl but other friends like the sawyer boy.
Good luck to all of you, they are all really good.

I just visit from a link I see on a tweet from someone last night. I like these videos but i dont understand this comment about no post on websites. there is a choice right on this video to post to FB or twitter or embed which allows to post this video on another website. If this was not allow why is it suggested? Seem like the contest wants to promote itself and the videos. On my freinds FB pages it has been reposted many times to many people so votes could come any time of day from around the world. I know my family in India likes these too and was probably some votes at night.
Blessings to all

Joey, I'm not sure what's wrong with you man. You claim you didn't like his video yet you are promoting it via fake videos on youtube. Which is against the rules FYI: "Entrants are prohibited from posting their Entry/Video on any other websites." From that video and one where Sawyer is singing a song about Joey Arnold, it's pretty clear what your intentions are. As stated before you are not welcome here, you are only stirring up trouble on each video in the contest. Do you think we don't read the other video's comments or something?
I'm so sorry this guy has tarnished the contest girls. You or Mustang Mikki deserve to win, that was made clear by the first round of votes. Sawyer's votes jumping hundreds over night and not at all during the day is a little more than suspicious, not to say he doesn't have talent, or that his video isn't good, but I hope the judges are paying attention.
You need not respond Joey.
Joey Arnold said...
@ Voters:
If you like girl bands, groups, then the After Jacks are the ones for you. Out of the five finalists, After Jack has the fastest beat. They are intense. I kind of didn't totally like the Sawyer Frye video. It kind of sounded annoying. But don't tell him I said that. But this video probably has the most likeable vocals out of the five.
Beth said...
"Joey"..don't you think this group should put their own video up (if they want) on youTube? You are a leech.
Joey Arnold said...
Please put this After Jack cinema music video onto youtube before I do.This video is the most dramatic. If this were theatre then they would win.
Katherine Grimes said...
I meant its, not bits. Sorry. I borrowed an iPad and can't use it worth a darn.
Katherine Grimes said...
I'm sorry this got ugly and political. Many of us have tried to help our friends in every ethical way possible, adhering to the one-vote-per-adult policy, not letting our children vote or voting with more than one e-mail account. My guess is that the judges will read these comments and be disappointed that the contest lost bits beauty. But the videos are still pure, I think, so let's try to go back to voting for the videos we like best. I'm voting for After Jack every day because I think they're the best and because I am proud to call them my friends. I also vote for Scott Crothers every so often because I like his video.

I really enjoyed Dusty's comments below about this video. I was blown away when I first saw it at how good the production values are (and that's saying something since I've seen all the After Jack musicians in some fantastic theatre performances). But Dusty helped me appreciate some of the finer points of the filming even more. One of our college students helped with the filming and we don't exactly have a film studio or fancy equipment here in tiny Ferrum, Virginia so I'm prouder than ever of the creative work these young people have done.
Kallie Yoas said...
Hello, Everyone. This is Mikki's older sister. I just wanted to let everyone know that Mikki is no longer allowed to post comments. She (as well as the rest of us) had no idea all of this would turn into what it has. No harm was ever intended. Mikki WAS naive and just trying to have friendly banter (do you realize how young she is?...). We (she and her family) had no idea how others would perceive her comments (which were being monitored). Mikki does not know "Joey" and is not in any sort of pact with anyone. We hope that all of this can come to an end and the accusations can stop. Mikki wishes all of you the best.
Susan Koger said...
Please stop all of the negative comments. Each contestant in their own right are talented. Each video in its own right is unique. Each video has its own fan base. Personally, I enjoy After Jack's video because of the creativity and beautiful harmony and musical talent of these girls. If anyone has cheated to get the votes just because they are jealous of a very creative video, then SAME ON YOU. @ Shannon...Amen. You hit it on the nose.
Lana Whited said...
@Keila: it doesn't appear accurate to suggest that Mikki is naive. She wrote recently in Sawyer Frye's comments, "You keep your end of the bargin (sic)."

Joey Arnold said...
What did I say that was negative?
Dusty Poss said...
I really enjoy this video. You should give credit to whoever directed it, even if it was one of yourselves. The fact that it was shot at night had to be difficult, but the lighting is great--it gives the illusion that everything we see is lit by porch and window light, but in thinking about it, I know that can't be true. And there are some pretty creative camera angles that really move the story in shots that last just a second. I'd bet my weekly allowance that someone even story-boarded this.
You gals rock! Your performance is fantastic, made all the more so by this wonderful little movie.
keila Nichols said...
@Shannon - Good call gal!
@ Sister Hazel & Brother Matthew - There is no known pact here. Mikki does not know this guy. She got caught in some friendly exchange in comments and now, surely regrets it. I can tell you her intentions were naive. And for all we know Sawyer may not even know this guy. I can just assume he may be cringing as well. Let's not sling mud on anyone bc of Joey's lack of character. I say let's all ignore his future comments and get back to the contest.
@After Jack - you guys are precious. Please just skip this lost creeper Joey! Have fun!
@ Joey Arnold - Get lost buddy. You are nobody's friend here!
Beth said...
Joey..hustle yourself down to OZ..you are not helping things here in the world of reality..you are not an asset to any of the finalists...you have contributed negativity and "pretend" to be whoever is ahead at the time, their "friend"...you are a pariah shameful to say the least.

Wow! Not long ago this was a place to leave praise, adoration, and supportive comments. This Joey Arnold guy has turned the comment section of the finalists into a mini-Facebook/Twitter page with all the unnecessary 'thinking out loud' remarks that seem to be nothing but an agitator for drama amongst the decent people that have come to this site to support a very talented trio of young ladies. I think freedom of speech is important; however, lack of integrity and respect is apparant in this guy's comments. I personally think he has corrupted all of the comment sections for these finalists with his propaganda and negative (and confusing) opinion and choice of words which seem somewhat like hypocrisy when noticing some of his comments indicate that he is of the Christian faith. I would respectfully request that if you have feedback that is not positive and does not promote the competitors video under which you are placing the comment, then don't comment on their video!
Sister Hazel and Brother Matthew said...
Mustang Mikki & Sawyer Frye should be ashamed for their little "pact". Perhaps that is their gut telling them that their talent isn't that great? @ Joey; it's AFTER JACK not The After Jacks. They're a group of talented, lady musicians not a box of cereal. Keep your comments on Mikki's page.

lela kubel said...
Good luck ladies my money's on After Jack!!!!!!
Joey Arnold said...
@ Day: the definition of who is the best out of these five is highly debatable. I am not exactly suggesting that we pick the worse or that we don't pick the best. However, I am rather debating about how we go about deciding who is the best. We can go about it by voting for who was the best or who are the best right now or about who will become the best some day.
In America Got Talent the judges or the national audience has to pick between voting for the best musician or magician or biker or dancer or comedian or singer or pianist or illusionist or this thing or that act or whatever. Each act could be the best of their field or of their kind or style or whatever.
This competition has five unique individuals. So, the voters and the judges have to think on their toes. How do you pick between these five?
Joey Arnold said...
@ Day, the After Jacks will continue to get fans, which means I really do wish them the best, because it doesn't matter how new of a band they are because they look like they belong to each other and it looks like they are full of potential and opportunities and growth.
Joey Arnold said...
@ Day, I was not exactly saying that the Jacks need no publicity, but I was rather suggesting that others may need it more.
Day said...
It's not that I don't understand what you are saying, it's that I don't understand why you think that these girls don't need the publicity, exposure, opportunity, etc... You seem to have come to a lot of conclusions about all of the contestants, and I'm not sure how you got there.
These girls are "professionals" however not in the sense that you seem to believe. They are a very newly formed band, and have only played a handful of gigs. I'm not even sure they had performed when this contest started.
Again, I don't think people should be voting for all these reasons such as "who needs it the most" and other things, I think people should be voting for the best video. All contestants had to meet certain criteria, including that they were not a signed artist. I think it's safe to assume any of the finalists deserve to win and could benefit from the exposure.
Brenda Wilson said...
Good luck ladies. You are "fan"tastic!!!
Joey Arnold said...
@ lela kubel: the more talented somebody is the better looking they are because the more talent that you have the more wisdom you have, the more skills you have at knowing how to present yourself in the best most creative or wise fashion possible.
I don't just mean that I think that this competition is about looks. And I am not just talking about outer appearance looks either because a person can look amazing not because they look amazing but because they are amazing.
Just look through their eyes, into their soul, to see who they really are.
Joey Arnold said...
@ DJ: I don't think Lana Whited was posting a really mean comment. She was only replying a comment that I made. I kind of said that Mikki was cooler. Lana decided to punch back. I wasn't trying to disrespect the Jacks. But you could say that I started it. If anybody has a problem you can come see me and blame it on me. And so to that, I apologize.
Joey Arnold said...
@ Katy Melton Simpson: Sawyer Frye was holding back.
Joey Arnold said...
@ Lana Whited: you said that the After Jack girls are the coolest out of the top five. Well, I wasn't exactly promoting a fight. My words may sound like fighting words because I speak out of passion, energy.
Are the After Jacks on Youtube? Can you get me a link so I can see more videos of them?
When I said that Mikki might be cooler, it was my way of creating comparison or contrast between the two parties.
Joey Arnold said...
@ Day, of course the After Jack girls are amazing.........
Joey Arnold said...
@ Day: but I was saying that we should vote for the one who has never won before, who needs this opportunity for a chance to advance, to become who they need to become, so that they can go where they need to go and blossom and thrive via the potential that is ripe and ready if only we would pick them.
Because the others will be given other opportunities while some of them not so much. But the ones who can return to other competitions and win those are the ones that don't have to win it. Not to say that they won't win this competition if they can win it. Not to say that the ones who can win this competition don't deserve to win.
I am trying to say that we should vote for the ones who are becoming the best, who are still not there yet, who needs the support, who needs the victory, money, support, publicity, experience, exposure, etc.
Instead of just of just voting for who appears to be the best. Ok, so maybe this comment might still sound confusing too............
Joey Arnold said...
You should vote for the best.........
Day said...
I'm sorry but these girls deserve to win just as much as anyone else in this contest. I'm more than confused by your post. I think we should vote for the best video personally!!
Joey Arnold said...
We should vote for the one who has never won anything before.
Mikki Mustang is not even in her prime yet and she already has a huge fan base. That is the number one reason she is winning. She is likeable. She has charisma. She doesn't have to win this competition. She is kind of like Michael Jordan when he was 12. Not to say that I know how old Mikki is. That is besides the point. But she is full of potential and she will have tons of opportunities to win more contests in the future. She can even become famous.
The After Jack girls are professionals, as far I see it. They don't need to win this competition either because they are already well known and people love them all over. They could probably start a national tour if they wanted to.
Shawn is somewhere in-between Mikki and the Jacks. He has style and depth. He probably deserves to win the most. I am not sure how big his fan base is. He can win this competition. His video did start with a pot of Oatmeal and I love Oatmeal.
Scott is full of wisdom, style, humor. If you were to put Robin Williams and Garth Brooks into a blender, you would come out with a Scott smoothy. It would be nice if he won this too. Because he has his act put together.
There is only one other guy who is just a little more different than these four that already mentioned. It is the one guy who needs may just need a victory here the most.
Yeah, that guy is Sawyer Frye because he is the only guy here who has the most balanced approach. In other words, he might just be the most well-rounded performer in this competition because he is not just a singer.........
Joey Arnold said...
@ to Ginger: the winner is ultimately in God's hand, but that is very generical concept that humans can rarely understand. In our simple perspective, however, the winner is in the hands of the human judges via their bias brains through their ability to pick between the criteria, the variety from the top five, which is also filtered through the votes, comments, feedback, and other things.
Joey Arnold said...
Hello, so, I, Oatmeal Joey Arnold, will agree to vote for you guys, if one of you lovely After Jack girls agree to date me or to simply get your fans to vote Sawyer Frye, especially since the votes don't matter and because there is no way he is going to catch up with you guys anyways since you guys are hundred of votes ahead, right, and his song is about time travel and your song is just about feeding a horse too much while in the middle of family affairs right.
ginger said...
I thought Katy Simpson's comments were catty and unnecessary. I'm glad to see After Jack is not supportive of those thoughts, they have been encouraging and supportive of others. It appears they are mature enough to see that their age, their experience as students of music and theater, and band performances is not to be equally compared to a youth without all that experience. Both videos are commendable in their own right, unique and of different styles! I must say I enjoyed both immensely and found it difficult to decide who to vote for. It has indeed been a blessing to see the top five finalists, talent I would not have otherwise seen!! As in all things, the winner is in God's hands!

Katy, I think Mustang Mikki is quite talented, and I've really enjoyed Scott Crothers' video, too. But I think After Jack has the whole package: talent, creativity, and fun!
Katy Melton Simpson said...
Wow!! Fantastic! What a fun, unique video. Such talented ladies! I really don't understand how Miss Mikki is winning?!???! Sure she's talented, lots of people are, but it take more than just the ability to sing and own a horse to be great (If that's all it takes I'm halfway there! ... and let me tell you, I can't sing). The ladies of After Jack are true performers! Sawyer Frye's pretty good and so are the gentlemen performing Red River Valley... but Mustang Mikki? Sorry girl, After Jack is where it's at!!
Rachel Blankenship said...
Well, bless everybody's heart! Thanks for the love! We'll yodel for the next video competition. ;)
Joey Arnold said...
The Jacks should have a yodel-rap-off against Mikki.
Joey Arnold said...
Forgive me for the comparison. But when I compared Mustang Mikki to After Jack, it is almost like comparing between chocolate and vanilla ice-cream because both flavors are delicious and likeable and maybe loveable.
I can either come out and talk about how the five finalists are the same, or about their similarities. You know, I can be polite. Say, "Good job...." be generic.
Or I can try my best to write about the differences between the five, the uniqueness to each one. But to say that Mikki is cuter than the Jacks is not to say that the Jacks are not cute. As far as I know, they might be cuter. I don't know, I am not a perfect Simon Cowell of an American Idol judge.
Did I say that Mikki is cute? I think somebody told me not to call her that. So in that case, let's just use the word cool. Mikki might be cooler than the Jacks. Maybe. But then the Jacks might be fresher. I don't know. Let me think about that some more.........
Lana Whited said...
I love it that Joey Arnold said After Jack "might be the fiercest of the five finalists." This band sings "Cornbread and Butterbeans" with such a high energy level that my son said, "It's like they're racing each other to get to the end of it." These ladies bring all their considerable talents to every performance. It's just a shame that all voters can't experience After Jack live.
Katherine Grimes said...
By the way, these women can yodel, too. Perhaps you'll get to hear them sometime.
Katherine Grimes said...
Joey Arnold, you said that Mustang Mikki might be the cutest. Perhaps we should say that the After Jack women are at least as cute, although I prefer the word "lovely."
Joey Arnold said...
Did I say that the pretty After Jack girls aren't pretty?
don blankenship said...
I wanna be After Jack's sweetheart
I love to hear them sing and play
I wanna travel about coast to coast
Maybe drive their bus someday
I wanna tell folks about them
From east coast to the west
I wanna be After Jack's sweetheart
They're the girls I love the best!
O dee yoo dee loo dee!!!!
Sorry < i couldn't resist
Katherine Grimes said...
Not all of what Joey Arnold said. These are some good-looking women, too!
jim bier said...
What Joey Arnold said! This band is awesome and getting better every day! I was blessed to hear them do this song live some weeks after it was submitted as a video and they keep getting better and better!
Katherine Grimes said...
What a great break from grading papers! I watched it twice already this morning.
whitney scott said...
This video always cheers me up! I can't stop watching it over and over.
Joey Arnold said...
Out of these five finalists, this video has the coolest introduction scene. You guys should have intermixed the story of the intro and sprinkled it throughout the whole video.
Your vocals are the most favorites. Oh, ok, so you do have a few more scenes, and the ending scenes is my most favorite one too. It kind of reminds me of the early Peter Pan plays back in like the 1960's where Peter Pan is played by a girl.
You guys are the only band in the top five right now. You guys might be the fiercest out of the five finalists. I didn't say this but Mustang Mikki might be the cutest but you guys are packed with soul, with movement, with the most energy out of the five.
Brenda Wilson said...
Enjoy listening to you everyday when I come to vote. Good luck to you.

This is more than just three awesome ladies singing a song. They are really creative and talented actresses and musicians. It's a theatre-worthy experience just seeing and hearing them. And they're cute too. Who wouldn't vote for them.
Laura Lovell said...
"After Jack" girls are outstanding musicians and their harmony touches my soul. I live in Iowa and am really happy I was in Virginia to see them twice in Virginia. Great video!

Definitely the most creative and the best video out of the five. I have enjoyed watching this over and over. Much love to all three of you.

I'm proud to say that I have seen these young ladies perform. They are awesome--hard to imagine so much talent as is found in these three. The video is the best of all the entrants that I've seen. Wishing you much luck.

While driving from Floyd, Virginia to Asheville, NC today we couldn't get any radio stations of our choice to get good reception in the car. We have high standards. No problem--we had the After Jack CD to listen to. Guess which verse of the After Jack original song "Bless Your Heart" made Susan Mead laugh.

I stopped in to vote on a busy day and couldn't help listening to the whole song. After Jack has such a great combination of voices and instruments. I went to meet friends at a local concert last night and it turned out we had the wrong night, but no problem--I had my After Jack CD in the car for wonderful music on the drive back home.

I come to vote and can't stop listening to the song or watching the video. It's wonderful to watch these talented ladies. Awesome job.

Dear After Jack:
I want y'all to know that I an both honored and proud to be listed in the top five with y'all. Y'all, I think, are the best female trio.....EVER!!!
It's obvious each of you enjoy what you do.
I totally agree with Shannon King; your talent, personalities, harmonies and instrumentals are Wonderful! (With a capital W!)
I wish you well, After Jack!!!
Fondly,
Mikki

Nice job, dear ladies! I've found a moments peace between my grueling day job, the neighbor's howling dogs and endlessly buzzing lawnmowers & weedwackers to drop by and say "Hi!" Enjoyed the harmonies and fiddlin'. 8-)
Shannon King said...
Maggie already claimed the #1 fan spot...so I guess I'll have to share the #2 spot with the hundred or so others who love and support the trio! Awesome job! Awesome talent! Awesome personalities! Awesome individuals!
Tina L. Hanlon said...
Before After Jack, Emily Rose Tucker wrote some of the most beautiful and fun music I've heard in this century--all kinds of music. Now After Jack has already written a couple of their own funny and heart-rending songs, in addition to making me love old folk and gospel songs that I thought nothing of in the past. They have it all, as you can see here--originality, acting talent, beautiful voices and harmonies, a great fiddler from a talented Blue Ridge family, bright shining unpretentious personalities dear to friends of all ages, and the ability to play more instruments than I think I've ever seen in one small group (and an old country house and cute dog).
Tina L. Hanlon said...
Please remember that Ferrum, Virginia is a village--it's not big enough to be a town or have a stoplight. (It has grown with the addition of 1 Dairy Queen and 1 Dollar Store over the 19+ years I've been here so it's getting more urban.) Thus it's all the more incredible that After Jack has already attracted so many fans from near and far. I'm proud to live on the Crooked Road Music Heritage Trail, the true home of country music, with this kind of talent (and I didn't even like country music at all when I came here). I watched After Jack attract a lot of new fans last weekend performing at the historic city market in Roanoke.

Dear After Jack,
I am very, very proud of your success in this competition, and I can't wait until the decision is in the judges' hands. Watching this video again tonight reminded me of what I love best about your performance, musical or theatrical: your absolute playfulness. I can't think of anybody I know who seems to enjoy performing more than you guys, and I'll bet there aren't many people who enjoying watching more than I do.
I love you!

One week ago tonight I was enjoying my seat in the biggest crowd I've ever seen at any event in Ferrum, Virginia off campus. That crowd full of the best people in the world turned out to hear After Jack sing all evening and a good time was had by all. This Friday night seems so quiet and bleak with no After Jack concert here.

Author Kerry Madden celebrated her 25th anniversary last week and reposted her newspaper article about eloping in Tennessee 25 years ago. She married into an Appalachian family of 13 children (which includes some famous Lunsford folklorists and musicians). I recommended that she watch this elopement spoof and get some great music along with it (and vote for this video) to celebrate her anniversary.

I had trouble getting the site to let me vote this morning, and I'm guessing others might have had the same problem. But After Jack is back in the lead! Mustang Mikki is very good, but After Jack is even better!
Mark Taylor said...
Wow! Shocked when I saw you guys were passed in the votes! I just don't understand that. This video is the best. The kid is cute, but I didn't see that anywhere in the qualifications for judging. Just remember, I know for a fact that this video in particular is the most creative and professional. Not to mention the amazing talent that goes along with it. Who knows, it may rule in your favor to not be first in the votes. You know how some people love the underdogs. Hope to get to hear you all in person one day. I am a new After Jack follower!
Tina L. Hanlon said...
I've listened to these multi-talented musicians sing and play many times before and after they started this new band, and I never get tired of hearing their music, so I'm not surprised that they sound great. When I saw this video, however, I was amazed at how good it looks and how funny it is--incredible job on their first music video.

Katherine Grimes said...
My nine-year-old has this annoying attention-getting type of behavior, too. Ignoring sometimes works; taking the person seriously does, too, sometimes. I'll try the latter. Joey Arnold, I enjoyed what you said at first, but then you seemed to be making statements that weren't true, such as that you weren't friends with Sawyer Frye when you two are friends and that Mr. Frye needed to win because he hadn't when he has. You have apparently discredited yourself to most After Jack fans. We AJ fans don't believe our friends would do anything unethical to win, and we hate to see a contest we've generally enjoyed become tainted. To many of us, you symbolize the taint. If you want to keep posting, we can't stop you. Now I'm ignoring.
