Rough
O.2008.5.21.w.11ahj.L4.office
There are scars!
Within urban youth ministry!

The Salvation Army has been reaching out, however, even in the slums or ghettos of Honolulu, Hawaii (of the United States of America). The Revolution Hawaii ministry has contribute to the mission of The Salvation Army: specifically (around the Kauluwella Corps.) in the Honolulu area of Hawaii. In collaboration, we have targeted Major Wrights housing, a poor apartment-complex that offers low-price housings. Specifically, this hood is invested with drugs, crime, and depression. By grace, we give the youth a sidewalk Sunday-school on Thursdays, a youth activity in their hood, in an empty grass lot between the apartments. On Friday afternoons, we bring the youth (all that will hop into the van) to the Corps. (the church for an even better youth activity that is like the SONday'sCOOL model). On Saturdays, Revolution Hawaii continues their reachout via visitation with their friends in Major Wrights (which has led to family prayer times, playing baseball with them, or just hanging with them, loving them like Jesus). Sunday, to start each week out, a van returns to that same neighborhood to pickup the youth for church. Seeds have been planted. The harvest is going to be reaped. I wish I could stay in Hawaii to see what is going to happen.

But it is still rough!
But it is worth it is!
But something happen!
Listen to this...

Last Sunday (2008.5.18.s),

several fights broke out during Junior Church

(which is like Children Church). The details are still confidential. But there were fights among several kids. Boys of course. I mean, girls fight, too. But it was mostly this ten year old boy who is like hyper, postitive, but often wishing for his own way. There were also fights in the van, since some of them had to be sent home. Or how did it happened? But the story is still there. I am sad. I plan to visit them, more. And encourage them to seek after destiny. Violence is not the answer, of course. My heart breaks at this. It is not a big deal, in a way. They are so young and small. It is not a big deal. Until they become big. If you can change the mind of the youth then you can change the course of the world and the history of society.

It is rough!
But it will only get rougher!

Lets turn the hearts of the youth!
And rewrite the depths of society!

Because it is worth it!

They are not broken!
But lost!
So to speak!
