Coffee
o.2008.4.29.t.5phj.L4.ps

Last day of April.
That is a thorn in the rose.

Earlier, I opened our morning prayer time with a joke.
"Thank you for waking up...
...coffee helps people wake up...
...what is a coffee-lover's favorite book?...
...oh this is a tough crowd...
...well, if you go to Starbucks, notice the coffee beans...
...the man brews them. He makes the coffee...
...He brews the coffee. He does!...
...He brews...
...Hebrews...
...that is the book. Hebrews."
For all you coffee lovers, out there!

Jess chuckled! Oh yeah!

We read and prayed through Hebrews, chapters five through seven!
We did so for a half an hour!
Reading and praying, out loud.
Walking around a tree.
One chapter per ten minutes.
Corey closed us in prayer.

Then we studied The Salvation Army.

Because it helps to know who they are.
Since we work for them.
I mean, volunteer.
I mean, we work for God.
But history and doctrine is important.

Today,

I washed dishes at the River Of Life Mission.
They feed the homeless.
Corey and Martina were preping the food.
For people to eat. Because you got to eat.
We do this each Tuesday.

At three in the afternoon,
I was at the YMCA.
Helping the youth with their homework.
Kids around the ages of four to thirteen.
Most of them were about eight.

And I love helping the youth.

I have an instant bond with them.
I know them.
I was reading a story book to one girl.
She was six.
The book was about rabbits.
I love children.

But I am not Michael Jackson.

Excuse me, but I love helping.
Excuse me, but do not get me wrong.
I wish I was a babysitter.
I wish that I had time to write children books.
Be a speaker.
And influence children to be all that they can.

Children are my coffee!

Must keep on going!
I am heading to a bible study right now.
We are going to watch a Nooma devotion video,
by Rob Bell of Mars Hill.
This episode is labeled "You."
Starting at 7pm, Hawaiian time.

I would need coffee to not fall asleep.
To not get on the wrong bus.
To not talk to many people out there.
Or call too many people.
Or chat with too many people.
I need coffee.
You need coffee.

The youth are my coffee!

I think.
I could be wrong.
But I feel that we must seek after our passion.
Our coffee.
I mean, this is not always the case.
I could be good at one thing.
But passionate about another.
Or there may be a better way!

Be passionate
in what you are gifted in!

Someday, you may become passionate about it.
I think!
And that is true with me.

I must go.
To continue to do what I do.

You too!

Drink coffee!
Smile!

Pray for passion!
But don't quit your day job!
So to speak.

Go after those dreams.
But stay on the beam!

And I need to pray with people.
Ah.
I have not forgot about that.
Ok.
I will put that on my callender.
I mean,
on my day planner.
Hee hee.
But really.
